Cascade Montana has a population of just over 500 people. Originally named Dodge, the town changed its name in 1887 as part of an appeal to become the county seat. The town is situated along the Missouri River and I-15 passes through.
In addition to acclaimed artist C.M. Russell, Cascade has other famous people. Notable folks hailing from the small town include J. Robert Atkinson, the founder of the Braille Institute of America and "Stagecoach" Mary Fields, the first black woman to work for USPS.
The camera is on top of a building near the Adel Mountains. The view is of the Prewett Creek RV Park and the Missouri River canyon. This stretch of river is the Blue Ribbon area known for prolific fly fishing.
"Our Town of Cascade is proud of its sense of small town goodness. With years of family tradition, Cascade encourages community involvement, fun, and getting to know one another." -CascadeMontana.com website
