Welcome to our 24/7 live cam view of the Choteau, Montana downtown! The city has a population of just under 2,000 people. It is east of the Rockies near Flathead National Forest. Routes 89 and 287 converge in town and it is near popular Freezeout Lake.
Originally a trading post established by A. B. Hamilton in 1873, the town was platted in 1883. Rodeo clown Flint Rasmussen is from Choteau, along with artists Jesse Gleason and J.K. Ralston. Choteau is also known for being near one of the most important paleontology sites in the world, Egg Mountain. The Old Trail Museum is home to the Maiasaura type fossil, which is the Montana State Fossil.
"Marvel at the ancient paleontology sites; explore the unique and beautiful mountains, plains, lakes, and streams; or enjoy the authentic and friendly hospitality, shopping, and dining." -VisitChoteau.com
Along Main Avenue North and South, you'll find restaurants and coffee shops like John Henry's, Copper Creek Coffee, the Outpost Deli, the Log Cabin Café and Meraki Coffee. There is the Stage Stop Inn on the north and Big Sky on the south for lodging, a few gas stations, too. The city has churches, parks, a bakery and much more.
We hope you can visit this Montana gem in person, but until then, please enjoy the livestream.
